I live in a remote area of the state of Washington, just south of the border with Canada and west of Idaho. The area is beautiful in all four of its seasons though winters can seem overlong. Toadflax Lane is just a fancy name for a long driveway. DOT mandated it have a real name and rejected all of my first choices. Toadflax is a weed that grows on the property that looks like a yellow snapdragon and since it is the first thing I saw out the window, it became our new address. You can see an example of toadflax in the picture above.
Spokane is 100 miles south, the closest city of any size. My husband Jack and I go there to take photography classes at Spokane Art School, usually from Mason McCuddin. You can see some of Mason’s recent work by going to his link on the right. There won’t be any photographs as Mason has been working in metal lately. The drive can be hard in the winter and with the price of gas skyrocketing we don’t enroll every quarter. The pictures from the previous classes are in the Locations and Conversations links at the top of the page.

I have two cameras: a Canon Eos Rebel XT and a Olympus C 765 UltraZoom. The Rebel is my favorite but there are times when the simplicity of the Olympus comes in handy. I keep the C 765 at work for those impromptu photo opportunities and use the Rebel as my serious camera.
